Whispers of Goodbye
I NEED YOU. I AM SO AFRAID...
As soon as she reads the words, Catherine
sets off for Louisiana to help her sister. Upon entering the
moss-draped woods surrounding the house, Cat finds herself
immersed in a mystery as murky as the mighty Mississippi River.
For Elizabeth has disappeared, and Cat suspects her sister's
husband knows more than he is saying. His dark eyes tell her
he has great sadness; his arms speak of much warmth; and his
lips have a language all their own. But not even a whisper
of her sister. Drawn into a web of family secrets and ancient
superstitions, Cat hardly knows what to fear most: the deadly
cottonmouth snakes, the deceptively peaceful swamps, or the
dashingly powerful man who can steal her breath and sear her
heart.

a subgenre many once thought long gone. Had I but known gothic

of a well-written Gothic in spades. I highly recommend this
story to anyone who loves the chilling suspense of a Gothic

Romance Reviews Today
"I closed this book when done with the
grand urge to dig out my tapes of the old black and white
movies that this book gave gentle nod to, and immerse myself
in the whole setting for a bit longer. The spell woven by
this book trapped me completely."
AOL's Romance Fiction Forum
"Gothic romance at its best! Highly
recommended."
Cindy Penn, Wordweaving.com
"This Gothic has everything. Gris-gris,
a solitary heroine, poisonous snakes, a little girl who hums
strange tunes and spies on everyone, the mysterious John who
alternates between kindness and rage, servants who know more
than they're telling . . . all that and more."
